About PaddleReady

Built by paddlers. Honest about what it is.

PaddleReady started with a simple, recurring question on a Saturday morning: is today actually a good day to paddle? The answer was scattered across a marine forecast, a tide table, a wind app, and a regulations PDF. So we put it in one place — and made a point of being honest about what the app does and doesn't know.

The PaddleReady condition badge: a green card reading Great Conditions, light breeze, good paddling conditions, above a Great / Caution / Danger scale.
One verdict, honest about its limits.
The PaddleReady Launch Points screen: 50 mi / 42 spots near Lakeland, FL, with launch pins on the map, the Hazards On and Report buttons, and OpenStreetMap attribution.
Launches and hazards, built by paddlers.
The PaddleReady wind card: a compass needle at ESE 103 degrees, 6 mph / 5.2 kt light breeze, a mph / kt / km-h unit toggle, a Beaufort 2 chip, 16 mph gusts and a wind-strength meter.
Every number attributed to a public source.

Our mission

Give recreational paddlers — kayakers, canoeists, and stand-up paddleboarders — a fast, trustworthy read on the conditions that matter, the launches near them, and the rules where they paddle. Free, ad-light, and built around safe decision-making rather than adrenaline.

Safety-first, and honest about it

A weather app for people on the water carries real responsibility, and we take it seriously. PaddleReady is a planning and reference tool — it is not a navigation aid, not a substitute for NOAA marine forecasts or U.S. Coast Guard guidance, and not a safety or rescue system. We say that plainly, in the app and here, because the worst thing a tool like this could do is make someone over-trust it.

Free, with an honest Pro tier

The full conditions dashboard, the launch map, and the regulations screen are free, with no account required — the free app is supported by a single non-personalized banner ad (Home and Launch Points screens only). PaddleReady Pro ($3.99/month or $29.99/year; the annual plan is the best value and includes a 7-day free trial) adds conditions for any city or zip code, offline mode for the conditions you last loaded, and the 7-day extended forecast — and removes all ads. Trip Check-In, a trip-reminder feature, is coming soon. We won't gate safety information behind a paywall, we keep ads away from safety screens, and we won't pretend Pro is something it isn't.

Who builds it

PaddleReady is a product of Brainstorm Innovative Technologies, LLC, a small software company founded in 2016 and based in Brooksville, Florida. PaddleReady is owned and operated outright by the company — not a client project, and not a venture-backed growth machine. That independence is why we can keep the core free and the messaging honest.

Data & attribution. PaddleReady is built on public data from Open-Meteo, NOAA, the U.S. Geological Survey, OpenStreetMap (© contributors, ODbL), and sunrise-sunset.org. NOAA does not endorse this app. See the in-app Data Sources screen and our Privacy Policy for the full list.
