Common questions
Is PaddleReady free?
Yes. The conditions dashboard, launch map, hazard reports, and regulations are free with no account required. The free app is supported by a single non-personalized banner ad on the Conditions and Launch Points screens — never on a safety screen. PaddleReady Pro is an optional upgrade that adds offline mode for the conditions you last loaded, the 7-day extended forecast, and removes all ads. Pro also unlocks conditions for any city or zip code (the free version covers your current GPS location). PaddleReady Pro costs $3.99/month or $29.99/year; the annual plan is the best value (Save ~37%) and includes a 7-day free trial.
Does PaddleReady tell me if it's safe to paddle?
No. PaddleReady provides condition information for reference. The Green / Yellow / Red badge is a derived score — it is not a safety determination and it is not a substitute for checking official NOAA forecasts and U.S. Coast Guard advisories. You are responsible for your own safety decisions.
Why aren't there tides where I live?
Tide predictions come from NOAA, which only covers U.S. coastal stations. Inland and international users will see "No nearby tide station" — this is expected.
Where do hazard reports come from?
Other paddlers. Hazards on the map are community-submitted and not independently verified by PaddleReady. Absence of a hazard marker does not mean an area is safe.
What is Trip Check-In?
Trip Check-In isn't available yet — it's a planned Pro feature currently going through a full beta of its overdue-alert email path. When it launches, you'll be able to log a trip with a planned return time and have us email one overdue alert to your designated trip contact if you don't check in. It will not be a rescue service — always also tell someone in person and carry a personal locator beacon (PLB) or VHF radio.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: About tab → Account Settings → Delete my account. Or use the web form at paddleready.app/delete-account.
How do I report inappropriate content?
Use the in-app flag button on the comment, photo, or hazard, or email violations@paddleready.app. We review flagged content within 24 hours.
